  This book blew me away. It is the re-imagining of the story of Ophelia, from Shakespeare's play Hamlet (Folger Shakespeare Library). In the play, Ophelia is in love with Hamlet and ends up committing suicide because of his 5/5(5).   At the beginning of the play, Ophelia is dutiful and polite; she does exactly what her family tells her to do. Then, Hamlet's erratic behavior and Polonius's death cause Ophelia to go mad. She becomes confused and starts behaving strangely. Ultimately, her madness leads to her death. Before reading the book I watched the movie Ophelia, which is not the right thing to do I know. Most of the time I read the book then watch the movie, but I completley forgot that I had this book and that the movie was specifically based on this.

Cat rated it did not like it. I think this idea is fabulous. I played Hamlet /5. This is a book we used to borrow from our old babysitter. As a teen I loved it.
